Whom To Blame???

I had never thought that the very first article of my blog would deal with such a gruesome incident of 'rape'.The whole of the media and the common people are baffling on the case of a girl raped in a moving bus last night. And everybody seems to ask the same question- Whom to blame?. the rapists?, the girl?, the police and management? or the judiciary system?

Yes, the rapists have to blamed not only because they have hurt an individual but because they demeaned the stature of a country where women are worshiped in so many different forms. Yes, the girl was also at fault. After all despite of several warnings by the police why did she get into a private bus with barely anyone on board? Yes the police and the management who are unable to stop the plying of such buses and the slow paced  judiciary from which the criminals fear no more are also to be blamed.

But what is to be blamed the most according to me is the MEDIA of this country. I wonder why these news channels are crying for more than 24 hours about this incident. Is it because they are actually concerned about the girl, the society or the common man? If this is the case, why didn't we hear such cries for the 600 other rapes that happened in Delhi itself earlier this year? If a girl is molested every hour in this country, why doesn't the media cry over them if they are sincerely concerned ? And why does the concern of such 'concerned media houses' fades away in a day or two? If they can raise such issues they can also keep them alive till justice is delivered, then only the purpose of this 'watchdog' can be achieved. But it seems that the media of this country is irresponsible enough to take this responsibility, their responsibility ends by achieving their expected TRPs.

When the Gujarat elections have ended, when their's no cricket match going on, no body has given any controversial statement, no new film is to be promoted through interviews, their has been no expose by Mr. Kejrival, then which news would gain them TRP?

The answer is -'RAPE'.
